One week left of Uni

The fact that I am graduating in exactly one week is mind blowing. It doesn't feel like it, at all. And since I've been hanging out with Dena (totally randomly) these past two days hasn't helped my keeping any form of schedule or structure in my head. But it's totally ok <3
-
I've been working a little bit each day on improving my BA thesis since the seminar we had on Tuesday, and today I sent it in to my supervisor for the last time. And we'll meet and discuss it one last time on Monday next week. But I think I'll work on it a bit this weekend still.... probs.
-
But anyways, these past two-three days with Dena has been super nice. On Wednesday we met up at Odenplan and had an early dinner at BK and then took the subway to Mariatorget and bought some gelato at Stikki Nikki. Always a good idea, if you ask me. Then we walked back home and chilled at my place for the rest of the evening, until Dena left.

Cookies and Cream (sweeter than sweet~)

-
Then we met up again on Thursday at around 14:00 at Akademiebokhandeln at Mäster Samuelsgatan and Dena went nuts and bought some books lol. We wandered around city a bit, did some shopping and then went to the Espresso House Sofia works at and bought some fika. We sat outside and talked about anime and manga and stuff...it was awesome! Then we went back to my place and bought dinner and just chilled. Then she left this morning again for Umeå. But she'll be back next week again! Ain't I lucky?

Neww cool street art in Hornstull!
-
The weather is supposed to be awesome this weekend...I don't wanna sit inside and write on my BA thesis at all. Ugh. I'll probably take a lot of ice cream breaks. A LOT.

Post-opposition seminar

Today, from 9:00, we had our opposition seminar for our BA thesis. We were divided into our host institutions where we've been writing our thesis (mine is Human Geography) so we were a small group of seven. So we followed our schedule and opposed (?) each other's thesis in pairs, while the rest of the group listened. It was really cool hearing what the others had been writing!
-
Iris opposed my thesis, and it went much better than I thought it would! I don't feel confident about it AT ALL so I was ready for a complete blood bath....but no. So all that remains is to fix some minor issues, some structural issues etc....and then I am done. Insane. I am actually graduating next week.

A weekend of recharging

I got an OK from my supervisor on Friday morning that my BA thesis was approved for next weeks seminar, so I handed it in immediately after waking up. I've been so nervous about it not being good enough for the seminar so it felt amazing to get that green light to hand it in. Now all I have to do it prepare for the seminar on Tuesday.
-
So needless to say, I decided to take Friday and most of Saturday off. On Friday I went to Slussen for some window shopping (feels like ages ago), and then I walked to 18 Smaker for some ice cream. I got two small scoops of grilled pineapple w/ vanilla and one with saffron flavour. It was delicious. So I munched on that and then walked back home, on a side street of Hornsgatan, behind Münchenbryggeriet and then Högalidskyrkan. I've never been there before but it was a really nice walk, but super hot. So when I got back I bought some gelato haha! This one was Nutella flavoured. Sooo good.

At first I thought that the lady was crazy giving me my gelato looking like it was about to fall off the cone right then and there but no, it was so thick it didn't even dripp.
-
When I wasn't outside trying to absorb some sunlight I've been curled up in my arm chair watching K-dramas all weekend. I started watching "Goblin" the other day and MY GOD it's so good! I fell for the Grim Reaper immediately (the moment after I had finished laughing at his outfit). Lee Dongwook is a masterpiece of a man. But あの超イケメン aside, the story is very....captivating? I dunno how to describe it but I really like the plot. I'm already 9 episodes in (I have no life) and I just...I feel like the ending is gonna fuck me up. 楽しみに。
-
BESIDES that. Tonight is the BBMAs and my BABIES BTS are gonna be there and I wanna stream it and watch it live but I am already so tried I feel like Imma fall asleep any second now. Ughhh if I fall asleep before the streaming starts...정국아,화이팅!!

Breakfast @ Sophies Canelé

I met up with Sofia and the Japanese girls today at St. Eriksplan for a nice breakfast at Sophies Canelé. This is also a place that I've been wanting to go to for super long but never actually made it there...until today!
-
The café was SUUUPER pretty with marbe tables with flowers on them and the whole place just gave off a very...instagram worthy/classy vibe, you know? I loved it. We all ordered their big breakfast package that came with pastery-of-your-choice, coffee/tea, orange juice, yoghurt w/ müsli and jam and a sandwhich of-your-choice. It was so worth the money.

Sofia and Mayu :D

Erina, Tomone and me :D

The whole gang <3
-
Everything was so delicious. The orange juice was so fresh, the yoghurt with müsli and jam was so creamy and the sandwhich (I took one with salami and small pickles) was really good too. But the star of the show was the almost croissant. Like....wow. Probs best croissant I've ever had. And the black tea I had was really rich and delicious too. Such a success!
-
So we sat the chatting, looking at old pictures and laughing like usual. Then when we left we realized that this would be our last time seeing each other for a while, since the girls are leaving next week. We've all been quite busy this semester but every time we have had time to see each other all 5 of us, we've had a blast! They're all such wonderful and smart girls, and we've made some really nice memories together. Like always, when parting with friends like this, we only say "see you later" and not "good bye". Because we'll meet again, for sure.

A weekend off

I submitted my BA thesis for the first deadline at around noon on Friday last week, and since then, I've been relaxing from the studies. On Saturday we had an amazing Eurovision night at my place with the whole gang. We started with dinner at a Chinese place here in Hornstull and then bought some snacks for the evening at Hemköp. It was such a great evening!

The only picture I took on Eurovision night...food, hahah!
-
Then yesterday, Sunday, me and Sofia went and watched the new Guardians of the Galaxy 2. It was SO GOOD!! I would actually say it's just a great as the first one...which is rare!!

Buying some candy before the movie~

-
In the evening me and Sofia went to Lappis to hang out and have dinner with the Japanese girls. The food was really good and we laughed so much talking about random stuff, like always. So sad they'll be leaving soon...

:D

Mid-week fun times

I've two awesome days with my classmates this week....and it's only Wednesday!
-
Yesterday, after some hours of writing at Uni with Rebecca, we met up with Emy at Lappis. We did some grocery shopping and then went back to Emy's place where Tove and her and Emy's friend Travis (who they met while studying abroad in Bangkok last year) later showed up. Originally we'd planned for a BBQ night outside but since the weather couldn't make up it's mind we had an indoor "BBQ" instead. Which was just a good!

One of all the 54 different weathers we experienced yesterday....

:D

-
After dinner we played a board game (Betrayal at house on the hill yet again hehe) and I actually won! WOOP! Just before 22:00, we melted some chocolate and cut up some bananas and went outside to hear the legendary "Lappis scream". Appearently it's a tradition that students scream at 22:00 every tuesday night. We didn't tell Travis about it and his face when everybody started screaming randomly was hilarious. We sat outside in the cold, munching on chocolate dipped bananas and chatted about random stuff before our blankets couldn't keep us warm enough and we went back indoors again. Such an epic night.

Boardgames on the floor <3

A bit cold but happy :D
-
This morning I met up with the same gang + Emma for brunch at Sthlm Brunch Club! Yaaaay!! I went all in and ordered pancakes, avo sandwhich and a freakshake. No regrets at all. And everything was so goood. God delicious food makes me so happy.

Rebecca, me and Emma :D

These freakshakes thooo

My must-have American pancakes!

I ate all of this. And I'd do it again tomorrow.

ALL THIS FOOD <3
-
After the brunch we split with Travis and he headed out to explore the city while we went back to Uni to continue writing on our thesis. With all that good brunch food in my belly I managed to tick off some things in my thesis that I've been postponing so...it went alright! Gonna go back to Uni tomorrow and on Friday and then hand it in later on Friday evening when my first deadline is. Gaaah!!

A week of writing

Is it Sunday today? I think it's Sunday....although it doesn't feel like it since I spend the day at Uni writing on my BA thesis. I've been there almost every day this week...and I think I've made quite a progress. But...I am still not done.
-
Despite the looming dark cloud of stress which is the thesis, I've been also having a great time with my classmates. Sitting together at Uni, having lunch together, screaming in frustration, procrastinate etc. All of that while being surrounded by cherry blossom and sunshine. Not half bad at all.

The ground slowling being covered by the wilting cherry blossom~
-
Yesterday I took the day off and chilled with Sofia the whole day. We had turkish food and made mocktails, watched Guardians of the Galaxy, the new episode of SKAM and planned for our trip next month! Less than a month left now GAH!

I could eat this every day. Maybe. At least 3 times a week. Easy.

We called these drinks "The blood of our enemies".
-
I have my first deadline on Friday next week so I'll spend alot of time at Uni during the week. Then I can breathe out on Saturday a bit. Can't wait.

A cherry day

Today was a good day.
I woke up at 6:00 and then headed to the gym to run on the treadmill a bit. Getting closer and closer to my goal of 5K in 30 min! Then after showering and eating breakfast I headed to Uni. I sat in the Geo building and was soon joined by Rebecca. Then a bit later Tove joined us as well. And believe it or not, I actually got A LITTLE BIT done. And actually important stuff (I think lol). I only wrote like...350 words but those were pretty good ones I must say haha. We we had decided that we were not gonna get anything more done we went outside and took some pics of the cherry blossom trees outside of the Geo buildings. They are so pretty...and they make me miss Japan even more </3.

Such a beautiful day at campus~

Sunny times~

A visitor and hiking~

This week took an interesting turn when Dena came to Sthlm on Wednesday evening. She had an interview here in the city on Friday and asked if she could crash at my place for a few nights and I was like dude ofc.
So it's been a couple of (super) late nights and fun days with chill, laughter and food together with her. I took her to Älskade Traditioner on Thursday (yup, sue me) and it was even more delicious than ever haha!

The chicken BLT wraffle is to die for!

This little blueberry pie is what dreams are made of <3 They served it warm with vanilla whip!

On Friday I had booked in a day of hiking with my classmates in Nacka which was reeeeally nice. It was a bit cold when we stopped for fika/lunch but when we kept walking you could not even feel the cold! Then when we got back to the city we met up with Dena and the five of us went to Amida, a charcoal grill restaurant at Söder! The food was INSANE! The portions were huge and the quality was top! It reminded me alot of the food we had in Istanbul <3

The plant fam out hiking :D

We had so much fika/lunch with us!

Thiiiiiiiiis

-
This morning Dena went back to Umeå, and I went to Uni to study a bit. We had out 50% seminar on Thursday, which was nice so now I just gotta keep this going and hopefully I'll be done in time!

Some confusion, food and feels

I have completely lost track of the days. I was sure yesterday was Tuesday...mostly because I spent Sunday on Uni which in not...how I usually spend Sundays. But this friggin BA thesis won't write itself. Sadly.
-
So yeah. But last Friday was awesome together with Alona and last Saturday was epic together with Sofia. Me and her went to Älskade Traditioner and shared a wraffel and a chocolate freakshake, which were amazing. Then we went to my place to plan for the summer trip to JPN and S.K. The exitement is reeeeeal!

Rich chocolate milkshake topped with a donut, a cocolate cookie, cream and a...chokladrån.

-
In other news....I've been spamming Monsta X like crazy these past few days. Like, I've been listening to some of their singles since I heard them for the first time in London but...damn they make some awesome music. Aaaaand my god Wonho is testing meeeEE. Ugh.

Korean food with Japanese friends

Yesterday me and Sofia met up with Tomone, Mayu and Erina at Odenplan and then took a (kinda) short stroll to Korea House at Ynglingagatan. Me and Sofia had been meaning to check out that place for a while now and since the Japanese girls likes Korean food too...we decided to go all five of us!
-
The staff was VERY friendly and me and Mayu got their Dolsot Bibimbap with Bulgogi, Tomone and Erina got their Kimchi Chige and Sofia got their Korea House Fried Chicken. All of the dishes were delicious. The bulgogi meat was super juicy and the rice was just enough crispy around the edges.

My Dolsot Bibimbap.

Sofia's fried chicken...I might have to take this next time we go here!

-
After finishing our food we sat there a bit chatting about random stuff, like idols, dramas and potato shortages. Yes. Hahah it was an awesome night!

Back to reality

I came back to Sthlm and reality late on Tuesday night. I had such a wonderful time in Umeå. It's like my little bubble of family, friends, food and fun. I had brunch with the girls, dinner with Dena at Pinchos, watched TWD S7 with Maja, played the Sims 4 with Ina, chilled at Otto's with Dena and also hanged out with my family alot. I managed to keep the stress of my BA thesis at a minimum and barely thought about it for almost a full week. I only took some random pics here and there so....here's som random pics from my Easter "break".

On my way home~

SASHA!! She turned 17 years old last Friday <3

Brunch~

Like...how cute is this picture?! <3

At Majas~

A classic.

Visiting relatives and the weather was insane...

Two pizzas in less than a week. Life.

Dad picking up Snax to tell her to stop trying to eat the plants.

But HOW DO YOU CUTE?!?

This fruit salad <3

Back home to Stockholm with a stunning sunset~

Epic evening + lunchdate with the Plant Fam

Yesterday I went to the study adviser to get some advice for what courses etc I should apply for for this fall...I think it went well (?). Ugh. Then I went and sat with Tove in the Geo buildings at Uni and wasted some time before the two of us were joined by Emy. The three of us then went to Tove's place and had such an epic evening together with games, cheesecake and foood. It was awesome.

Today I went to have lunch with the Plant Fam (aka Tove, Emy and Rebecca) at Ni Hao at St. Eriksplan. We've been there before and their dumplings (or all food in general) are AH-mazing! And the staff is super sweet and even gave us a discount haha <3 I got my standard Yakiniku and pork dumplings and so did Tove, Emy got their tofu red curry and Rebecca got their spring rolls. All of the dishes are A+.
-
We sat there talking crap for a while and whined about our thesis writing etc. Now we're splitting up for a while over Easter so it was nice to have a lunch like this together :)

7/4/2017

Yesterday became quite an unforgettable day. I had gone to Uni quite early and sat in the library writing between 10 ish and 14 ish. Then I moved over to the Geo buildings to sit there and eat lunch and study some Korean. At 15:11 I got a message from Mom asking if I was at Åhléns. I was like "eeh noo?" but I understood that something must've happened so I checked the news. And I remember how I froze when I read the headlines. I continued reading a bit and then decided to gather my stuff and try to get back home.
-
I immediately saw that the subway had stopped running so I went to the busstop to get on a buss. There were ALOT of people already standing there and in the midst of it all a guy comes up to me and asked me if he could borrow my phone to make a call. He didn't speak Swedish and was going to Värtahamnen to catch a ferry with his friends to Riga, but his phone must've died and he couldn't contact them and since the subway was down he was kinda stressed. I let him borrow my phone and we got on the packed bus together. On the way I helped him look up alternative routes to the harbour and he got off before me at at Roslagsgatan.
-
I rode a few more stops and got off at Stadsbiblioteket. And then...I started walking. I walked passed Odenplan, St. Eriksplan, over to Kungsholmen and passed Fridhemsplan, through Rålandshovsparken, across Västerbron and then I was home in Hornstull. I have no idea how long it took...probably over one hour.
I've never seen Stockholm like this, it was like everyone was out on the streets, all the roads were completely clogged up going out of the city while the roads to the center of the city were completely empty. People walked fast, with determined and worried faces. Everyone was on their phones, checking the updates. The whole situation was surreal.
-
After getting home, the first thing I did was to call my Mom. Then I sat in bed watching the news report and reading the news articles for the nights. The guy I had helped on the bus messaged me later on the night and told me that he made it in time for the ferry, and thanked me for helping him out. That made me a little bit happier. Felt a bit uneasy the rest of the night though, but I got some hours of sleep at least.
-
I am fine. I'm just sad for the victims of this attack and the people directly affected by what happened yesterday.
I gave myself the day off today aswell but tomorrow I'll get back to studying.

Yesterday, walking across Västerbron.

It doesn't show up very good on photo, but you can kind of see the mass of people walking ahead of me. Insane.

London gang at Ramblas

Yesterday was Clara last evening here in Sthlm, so the three of us decided to meet up for tapas at one of Alona's favourite places, Ramblas. Conveniently enough, it's like 3 min walking distance from where I live.
-
We had reserved a table there at around 19:40, and we were seated at the best table by the window. We ordered our food and then sat there chatting and munching away. The food was really good and flavourful! We also ordered dessert because...why not. But yeah we sat there talking about EVERYTHING! Alot of heavy stuff like the future, the worlds current state, corruption etc but also some ridiculous stuff that had me screaming with laughter. Standard thing for us.
We sat there for over 4 ½ hours, and then I gave Clara a biiig hug and said that we'll see each other soon again. I have to go and visit her in Denmark! It's not even far, for crying out loud! Anyways, it was such a great evening with great company <3

Aaaaall the potatoes~

Fatty day with the London gang

Yesterday I hanged out with Alona, Clara and Alona's sister Vicky. We went for lunch/fika at Älskade Traditioner (I knooow I was there like 2 weeks ago but whatever) and then we took a short trip to Bromma Blocks for some froyo at Honeycomb. It was my first time trying their froyo and it was delish. I covered mine in Nutella haha. It was a great day of just beeing fat and having fun with friends~
-

Not many people here on a weekday~

Banana split waffe!

 My club sandwhich waffle :D

 This freakshake tho...

A reunion

This day just flew by!!
I had did a double workout this morning (my new thing), and then hurried home for a quick shower and a quick lunch before heading out again. I took the subway to Centralen and there she was waiting for me....CLARA!! I haven't seen her since last summer and damn I've missed her so much! We went to Il Caffe on Drottninggatan to catch up and study....but ended up just chatting away for hours. Classic.
Then Alona messaged us (she had been busy doing Högskoleprovet) and picked us up at Sveavägen. Before continuing to Nacka to meet a friend of Alona's, they dropped me off at home.
-
The three of us will hang out more before Clara leaves next week. I am so happy that we're together all three of us again. The London gaaang <3

Taco and board game night with the GU girls

Last night I med up with three of my classmates from uni, for some tacos and board games! We played a game called "Betrayal at the house on the hill". It was a bit complicated at first but reeeeally cool! I was the first one to die tho lol. But I feel like it'll go much better next time we play it! It was such a great evening with my mates and I got home after midnight...

-
Today I'm gonna work from home and try to get some words down on my thesis. 화이팅!

The first week + Kingsglaive angst

It's been a week since my last course started, writing my BA thesis. Doesn't feel like I've done that much to be honest...I've read an interesting but kinda upsetting book about the masculinization of Chinas demography, searched some articles and data etc. But yeah...no. I don't like this hahaha. But ofc I'll figure it out somehow.
-
Sooo in the middle of my FFXV angst state I decided to rewatch Kingsglaive. I do think it's an epic movie, and it felt very different watching it now post FFXV, than how it felt watching it before playing the game. The angst tho.
Aaand I played the new Chapter 13 patch with Gladio and Ignis. I screamed a bit while playing it, ngl. I also bought Episode Gladiolus, which I am excited to play! Hope I'll have time to play it this weekend.

Friday fika at Älskade Traditioner

Yes, as the title says, today we decided to celebrate Friday by going to Älskade Traditioner. I've been wanting to go there and try out their waffles for a little while now...and I was not let down!
-
We arrived at the café at around 16:00 ish, and there was one big table free for us! I assume that it gets pretty crowded earlier during the day so I think we arrived at a good time. The interior was very cute and cozy! People between all ages were there too.

-
Anyways, they had so many things that sounded delicious but in the end I decided on the apple pie waffle! It had apple pieces, ice cream, almonds (I think), whipped cream and caramel sauce. It was suuuuper tasty!! Everyone was very happy with their choices, which means I have to go back and try it all haha.
